About the Comic

Charlie is a black-and-white tuxedo cat who loves love, feather sticks, and the quiet life. She is gentle, affectionate, and believes the best things in life involve a warm lap and a slow blink. Charlie also has a lot to say about how she sees the world, and has deep insights into the mechanics of the Universe.

Mabel is a grey-striped tabby who lives for parkour, extreme everything, love, and the occasional act of murder (of toy mice, mostly). She is chaotic, fearless, and convinced she could take on a bear -- once she sees her sister do it first.

Both have very active imaginations. Together, they are sisters navigating the absurdities of indoor cat life -- from territorial disputes over the sunny spot to elaborate feather stick ambushes and the eternal question of whether the red dot is real.

Charlie & Mabel is created by Michael Dargie, an author, artist, and creative director based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Michael draws inspiration from the real Charlie and Mabel -- two sister cats whose daily antics provide an endless supply of material. When not drawing cats, Michael runs Make More Creative, a creative studio focused on building interesting things for interesting people.
